Ways to Celebrate All Year Long

Sugarlands Visitors Center Display

Throughout 2024, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Visitor Center at Sugarlands will host a display in honor of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club’s 100th birthday. SMHC is planning the display which will illustrate the club's history and activities, and will be located just inside the entrance to the Visitors Center.

SMHC Centennial Beer

Lost Hiker Beer from Albright Grove Brewing

Albright Grove Brewing (2924 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN) is honoring SMHC with a beer specially brewed to celebrate SMHC's Centennial! The beer can features the SMHC logo, and honors the Club with a summary of the Club's purpose and history. Christened "The Lost Hiker" (a great name submitted by a club member and picked by the proprietor of Albright Grove Brewing), the beer will be available throughout the year at the brewery, as well as at some of our special events. And by the way, contrary to the name of this beer, the Club has never lost a hiker, though some may have been misplaced for a few hours! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer at Albright Grove Brewing will be donated to the Club.
