Frozen Head State Park, Lookout Tower Trail: we will start on the South Old Mac Trail and climb over 2000’ through a lovely hardwood forest to the lookout tower which stands at 3324’ Return will be down the North Old Mac Trail. The tower allows for obstructed views of East Tennessee’s three main features the Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee Valley, and across the valley to the Smoky Mountains. Hike distance is 8 miles, rated difficult due to elevation gain. Meet at Books A Million, 310 S. Illinois Ave. Oak Ridge, at 8:00 AM to carpool, or the Old Mac trailhead parking lot at 8:45am. 50 miles @.07=$3.50 you can roundup $4.00 The leader will meet you at trailhead.
